PHC CJ says judiciary going through self-accountability ‘

NOWSHERA: Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said on Friday superior as well as the subordinate judiciary were passing through the process of self-accountability.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the new building for the lower courts in the Pabbi tehsil of the Nowshera district, he said he did not compromise on the rule of law and upholding merit during his long career.

The PHC chief justice said that it was the right of the people to be dispensed justice. He added that it was the foremost duty of the judges to administer justice and deliver verdicts in accordance with the law.

Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said he would not tolerate any obstacle to the administration of justice. The PHC chief justice said the people could approach the PHC’s Member Inspection Team and the Human Rights Directorate to seek justice. He said he was focusing attention on addressing the problems being faced by the lower courts and the lawyers.

Speaking on the occasion, Pabbi Tehsil Bar Association President Shahzad Gul Advocate shed light on the problems being faced by the local lawyers. He said that another civil judge and judicial magistrate should be posted in the Pabbi tehsil.
