ECP ban on postings, transfers lifted
Now, therefore, after completion of tenure of caretaker governments
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan announced Monday the lifting of the ban previously imposed on postings, transfers, developments, and recruitments following the conclusion of caretaker governments’ tenure.
In a notification issued here, the ECP declared: “Now, therefore, after the completion of the tenure of caretaker governments, all restrictions or bans imposed on postings/transfers, development schemes, and recruitments are hereby lifted.
Henceforth, the elected governments shall regulate these affairs.” The notification further cites Article 218 (3) of the Constitution, emphasising the election commission’s duty to organise and conduct elections ensuring honesty, justice, fairness, and adherence to the law while guarding against corrupt practices.
