ADB’s transport sector team evinces interest in mega LDA projects

LAHORE: Asian Development Bank's transport sector delegation called on Commissioner Lahore & DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday.

The ADB team was briefed on various projects of Lahore in the meeting. A briefing was given on roads structures, transport system and traffic engineering in different parts of the provincial capital. In the meeting transport smart mobility, environmental protection measures and urban friendly transport system came under discussion.

The delegation expressed interest in the mega development projects of the provincial capital. Commissioner Lahore & DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said commercial activities should be mandatory to make smart mobility terminals self-sustainable.

A lot of work has been completed on the cycle culture trend for the promotion of healthy environment and activities in the city. The commissioner informed the delegation about the target of electric bikes for environmental safety and ongoing measures taken for anti-smog campaign. In the meeting, the delegation was told on the ongoing and proposed development projects in the city.

The participants of the team said citizens have got relief due to the early completion of various uplift projects in Lahore. Delegation led by Principal Transport Specialist ADB Syed Husnain Haider, project officer transport Hamid Khan and consultant transport Huma Zahi.

Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Chief Engineer Tepa Iqrar Hussain, MD Wasa Ghafran Ahmed, Director Development Lahore Division Javed Rashed Chohan, engineers and other officers of Nespak, TEPA and LDA also attended the meeting.
