ACE to probe SPSC officials in paper leak case
On the orders of the Judicial Magistrate III, Hyderabad, the case has been transferred from the police to the Sindh ACE
KARACHI: The investigation on leaking of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC)’s paper involving the commission’s staff has been transferred from police to Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
As per the official notification issued by the chairman ‘Enquiries and Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment’ Shafaat Mirza, Circle Officer of the Sindh ACE, Hyderabad zone will probe and Director Forensic Muhammad Ali Baloch will supervise the investigation.
An FIR was registered at the Police Station GOR in Hyderabad on the complaint of Abdul Hafeez Laghari against an SPSC officer and the lower cadre employees on the charges of leaking the examination paper for the recruitment of secondary school teacher (SST).
On the orders of the Judicial Magistrate III, Hyderabad, the case has been transferred from the police to the Sindh ACE.
As per the FIR, registered vide crime No.15/24 under sections 409, 411, 420, 365 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the tests for SST vacancies were held at different centres from Feb 15 to 26, 2024.
On Feb 17, it was learnt through social media that 18 questions were correctly marked for the Feb 16 paper and on the same day it was also learnt that the suspect had already posted the day’s paper on the social media.
The SPSC management has cancelled the said examination of the secondary school teacher (SST).
