He said this while talking to the media at the Sindh Assembly on Sunday. Shah remarked that the PPP held the key to the continuity of democratic process and the party used that key wisely.

He maintained that the PPP decided to sit with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the federal government for the sake of democracy. He said the PPP would vote for the PML-N’s prime minister candidate and cooperate in legislation and other issues, but would not take any federal ministry in return.

Shah asked against which party the Awami National Party had been protesting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Regarding the rigging allegations being levelled by the Grand Democratic Alliance, the PPP leader said the GDA could not win more than a single seat.

He added that the PPP was considering the name of Yusuf Raza Gilani for the post of the Senate chairman. On Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founding chairman Imran Khan’s decision to write a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) against rigging, Shah said such a letter would mean inviting the IMF to interfere in the internal matters of the country.
