ECP hears alleged rigging case in NA-11
ALPURI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) heard the alleged rigging case of the NA-11 constituency in the Shangla district on Monday.
The applicant Syed Fareen Khan and his lawyer appeared before the commission, stating that while voting had not been conducted at a women’s polling station in Maroofkhel area, how the winning candidate had received 600 votes.
The ECP summoned the returning officer of NA-11 on February 26 and postponed the case hearing until then.Speaking to media persons later on, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Hajji Syed Farin claimed rigging in the constituency and alleged that the government machinery had altered results.
He asserted they’ve approached the Election Commission, Supreme Court, and other forums against the reported rigging. He demanded results according to Form 45, as they were leading in it.“Ameer Maqam, the rival candidate, allegedly rigged 51 polling stations and fabricated Form 47, which we refuse to accept,” he added.
