2,500 youths take test to join mass vocational training programme

Around 2,500 Karachi-based youths took an aptitude test on Sunday to get admission to the new batch of the mass vocational training programme of the non-profit Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT).

Speaking to the candidates before the commencement of the test, SWIT founder and Chairman Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri appealed to the youths to demonstrate their brilliance as true Pakistanis.

Maulana Qadri appealed to the candidates not to be disappointed, advising them that instead of emigrating from Pakistan, they should remain steadfast in the motherland to face the difficult times.

He told the candidates that the graduates of the mass IT training programme of the SWIT have started earning hundreds of thousands of rupees every month. He said that the basic aim behind launching the mass vocational training programme was to let the youths in the country earn their livelihood in an honourable manner while also contributing to the advancement of the country. He also said that a smartphone app has been designed to let the graduates of vocational training programmes find earning opportunities with ease on a self-help basis.

He told the audience that an arrangement has been reached to ensure on-call instant availability of motorbike mechanics in Bahria Town, Karachi, as service providers would have the facility of motorbikes for their fast mobility.

The SWIT chief expressed gratitude to the philanthropists and donors who have been extending unwavering support to his non-profit for conducting free vocational and IT courses for youths.

Speaking as the chief guest, noted businessman and philanthropist Farhan Hanif advised the candidates to follow his example to start practising entrepreneurship and emerge as successful businessmen after a lifelong struggle. SWIT COO Muhammad Ghazal Ilyas and others also spoke on the occasion.

The successful candidates will be trained free of charge in the fields of mobile phone repair, motorbike repair mechanic, laptop repair technician, CCTV camera installation, repair and maintenance of RO water filtration plants and solar power systems, and repair of modern air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.

The mass vocational training programme of the SWIT has so far produced 40,000 trained youths. Until now over 75,000 youths have graduated from the mass IT training programme of the SWIT that was launched in 2013.
