The Sindh Food Authority’s team conducted an inspection in the Chakiwara area of Lyari on Friday and temporarily sealed a bakery.
The director general of the Sindh Food Authority, Agha Fakhr Hussain, supervised the operation.
He said that the condition of cleanliness in bakeries located in Chakiwara was found to be severely inadequate during the operation, and several bakeries were issued improvement notices to address the shortcomings. Due to non-compliance with health regulations, a bakery was temporarily shut down.
The Sindh Food Authority is extending its jurisdiction to cover every region, said Hussain, adding that they are taking immediate and impartial action against those who violate health regulations.
