Three arrested for firing on Dolphin Squad

Islamabad:The Islamabad Police have arrested three people involved in the shooting on Dolphin Squad.

The Islamabad Capital Police's Dolphin Squad personnel came under gunfire in Sector E-11 on Tuesday evening, one cop was shifted to hospital after sustaining bullet injuries, while, the gunmen managed to escape from the scene, however, heavy contingents of police cordoned off the area and took the car of the attacker in possession and shifted it to the Shalimar Police Station, police said. The police registered the case and initiated the investigation, police said adding that various teams were constituted to search the suspects involved in the shooting.

The police said that the Dolphin Squad received information of gunfire in Sector E-11 and rushed to the spot. Upon seeing the police the accused opened gunfire on Dolphin personnel from a vehicle, injuring one police officer. While the accused managed to flee the scene, a case has been registered at Shalimar Police Station, and Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, has issued directives to senior police officers for the swift apprehension of the accused. Special police teams were formed to investigate and ensure the arrest of the accused involved. The police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in tracing the vehicle and arresting three accused involved in it. Further investigation is underway.
