KARACHI: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) said it had started production from a new well in Sanghar district of Sindh, which would help reduce the country's dependence on oil and gas imports.
The state-owned company said on social media platform X that the well Chak 63-2 in Chak 63 D&PL block was producing 525 barrels per day (BPD) of oil, 2.25 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, and 7 metric tons per day (MTD) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The gas from the well is being processed at the Sinjhoro Gas Processing Plant, which is also operated by OGDCL. OGDCL said the new well would save around $30 million in oil and gas import bills.
