LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former chief minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused could not be indicted in illegal appointments to the Punjab Assembly (PA) case, on Thursday.
An Anti-Corruption Court in Lahore, while adjourning the proceedings due to absence of the accused, summoned them on the next hearing for indictment.
Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta heard the case.
Elahi and other accused could not be presented in the court despite being summoned for indictment.
The judge expressed annoyance and announced interval in the hearing. He remarked that when the accused were appearing in the accountability court, then why they were not appearing in his court. He ordered issuing show-cause notice to the jail superintendent.
He remarked that the accused, police and doctors all were conniving.
The judge said: “I will initiate proceedings against all as per law. The court provided copies of challan to all. The anti-corruption presented challan of case in the court also.”
