CDA conducts e-tender of two road projects

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) procurement wing has conducted two tenders for the e-PADS for the first time in the history of department on the direction of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

Earlier there were manual tenders in the traditional manner with pool complaints. The PPRA has now made e-tender mandatory to ensure transparency. Two tenders were opened by firms registered in PPRA under e-PADS. A total of 20 firms participated. Two bids were rejected.

According to sources, the CDA engineering wing has decided to reconstruct the service road, South and West of Sector H-11. The drainage network of these roads will also be constructed. Four culverts on the service road south will also be made. The cost of its construction was estimated at Rs113.4 million. When the tenders were opened, the lowest bid cost was 17 percent more than the estimate. The amount is Rs132.7 million.

The second tender was opened for the reconstruction of the service road North and West of Sector I-14, where the protection wall will also be constructed. Ten companies participated in the open tender. The cost of its construction was estimated at Rs9.71 million. The lowest bid was 2.2 percent less than the cost estimate. The bid was Rs970.1 million. Both projects will be completed in five months at a total cost of Rs210m.
