Sarwar says Lahore won’t disappoint Bilawal
LAHORE:Former Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that Lahore will not disappoint Benazir Bhutto's son in the 2024 elections.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto was the future of the country, said Sarwar while talking to media while visiting PPP Punjab Secretariat Thursday.
On his arrival at People's Secretariat, Model Town, PPP Additional General Secretary, spokesman to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Zulfikar Ali Badar, PPP Lahore President Aslam Gill, Usman Malik, Mian Ayub, Rana Irfan welcomed him and also talked to the media. Sarwar said that Bilawal Bhutto had always spoken of equality. The best diplomacy for PTI should be to make Bilawal successful from NA-127, he suggested. Speaking to the media and answering their questions, Chaudhry Sarwar said that the aim of his election campaign was to make Bilawal Bhutto successful in Lahore. There is no enmity in politics, all parties respect each other. A level-playing field should be given to all political parties. He said that Bilawal Bhutto contesting elections from Lahore is to strengthen the federation, whenever there is dictatorship, whenever there is oppression, Lahore stands against it. The former governor said that the PPP has never done divisive politics, it is not supporting Bilawal Bhutto for any personal benefit, he is the best candidate, he maintained he is satisfied with the performance of Bilawal Bhutto as a foreign minister. He recalled that his love for the PPP is not new, he said his relationship with Bhutto family is 40 years old, when Benazir was campaigning against dictatorship, I stood by her side. He said he is supporting Bilawal Bhutto so that Bilawal become Prime Minister from here.
He said Bilawal's campaign had started in consultation with Chaudhry Shujaat. Elections will be held on February 8. The thought that the elections will not be held makes people disappointed. He further said that Iran is a brotherly country that misunderstandings should end, anything can happen in politics. He said the PPP has invited me to join the party many times.
