LAHORE: Pakistan, the fourth largest country at Heimtextil, the international trade fair for home and contract textiles, kicked off its largest-ever participation on Tuesday, showcasing its products and seeking new markets.
More than 270 Pakistani exhibitors, both direct and indirect, are displaying their products such as bed linen, kitchen linen, and towels in Hall Level 10, according to a statement.
"Pakistan has consistently played a significant role as a major participant at Heimtextil. We are proud to hold a ranking just behind the prominent countries of China, India, and Turkey," the statement added.
Among the direct exhibitors are leading textile companies such as Lucky Textile Mills, Sadaqat Limited, Gohar Textile Mills, Nishat Chunian, Nishat Mills, Adamjee Enterprises Alkaram Textile Mills, Orients Textile Mills and many more, while several small and medium sized companies are participating under the the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Heimtextil is organizing the popular Heimtextil University Contest exclusively for national and international universities with a focus on textile design in hall 3.0 and one of the Pakistani company WQ Print Studio representing their products in this section.
Mohd Waqas, the CEO of Wamzak Corporation, said he was optimistic about the prospects of the fair. "Today is the first day of the exhibition, and we have buyers from all over Europe, especially Spain, Italy, and Germany. We hope to attract more buyers and receive a positive response during Heimtextil 2024," he said.
