PMLN leaders differ over seat adjustments with IPP
LAHORE: A serious disagreement has emerged in the PMLN senior leadership over seat adjustments with the Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP) in Lahore constituencies.
According to the sources in the party, most of the senior leaders have objected to seat adjustment with the IPP saying they can’t sacrifice seats, which the PMLN won in previous elections.
The PMLN has not made any promise to give seats to Aleem Khan and Aoon Chaudhry from Lahore, the sources said, adding only talks could be held on the seats, which the party had lost in the last elections. PMLN candidates Malik Riaz from NA-117 and Rana Mubasher Iqbal from NA-124 are potential winners and their seats can’t be adjusted, sources maintained.
No PMLN official was ready to comment on the situation unless the leadership finally announced its candidates.
