PITB-installed software in public hospitals has failed: YDA
LAHORE : The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Pakistan has said that the software developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) software for generating outdoor slips in public hospitals has failed.
In a press statement issued here on Saturday the YDA Pakistan General Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi said that the software for generating outdoor slips in Mozang Hospital Lahore, Sahiwal Teaching Hospital and other hospitals has stopped working and as a result, the patients are forced to stand in long queues.
Furthermore, he said that PITB could not start the lab reports software despite the deadline of December 1, 2023. He said that due to the failure of the software in these hospitals, the outdoor slips and lab reports were being written by hand by the staff.
He appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to install hospital software in all private and public hospitals of Punjab with the cooperation of Health Information and Service Delivery Unit (HISDU), a department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SH) Department. HISDU has also installed online software of the hospitals, which is quite efficient. He further said that the installation of software through HISDU will not put an extra burden on the government. He also demanded the DG Anti-Corruption to conduct an inquiry into the matter and take strict action against those who are involved in the matter.
