KARACHI: An accountability court adjourned hearing in the JJVL reference against Dr Asim Hussain and others until April 29. The court, while adjourning the hearing, directed the prosecutor and the attorneys concerned to resolve the issue amicably.
Dr Asim Hussain and other suspects are facing two references regarding breach of trust, encroachment of lands and wrongful use of gas quota. Dr Asim Hussain is alleged to have caused a loss of more than Rs450 billion to the national exchequer.
Meanwhile, Dr Asim Hussain, while talking to the journalists outside the accountability court before the hearing, expressed his concern over the prevailing conditions,
saying he saw no solution to this state of affairs in the near future.
Replying to a question, Dr Asim Hussain denied he was being rushed to Islamabad for any purpose. He remarked that he had been an orthopedic surgeon, and he did not think that he would be rushed to Islamabad for operating someone.
