Sindh caretaker chief minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar on Saturday performed the groundbreaking of an underpass being constructed at the Karimabad intersection in District Central of Karachi.
The Karimabad underpass is being constructed at a cost of Rs1.35 billion. Its length is 1,080 metres and width is 6.1 metres, and the project is expected to be completed within two years.
The underpass project has been launched by the Karachi Development Authority (KDA). Baqar directed the KDA director general to keep monitoring the project’s quality and progress so that the underpass can be completed on time. He said the project would help reduce traffic congestion in the area.
