Opens Safari Park Lahore upgrade project

Following the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Safari Zoo Park upgrade project, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed the media, revealing that the enhancement of Safari Park Lahore was modelled after the Singapore Safari Park. The decision to retain elephants in the park aligns with the recommendations of an international consultant. The caretaker chief minister emphasised the implementation of excellent sanitation measures for tigers and other animals, coupled with the introduction of a substantial number of new species. The comprehensive upgrade is slated for completion by January 31, following a plan devised in collaboration with an international consultant. The revamped Safari Park will feature distinct experiences, including boat safari, lion safari, and animal safari, all adhering to rigorous international standards. Acknowledging the need for adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for animal care, Mohsin Naqvi stressed the importance of ensuring SOP compliance. Expressing efforts to bring pandas from China, he affirmed a commitment to providing optimal treatment and nutritional facilities for all animals.

The chief minister, cautioning against unauthorised access to restricted areas, underscored that any misadventure, such as climbing into a tiger cage, falls outside the realm of security responsibility.

He affirmed that negligence, if present, would prompt immediate corrective action. Furthermore, the chief minister shared aspirations to transform Jinnah Bagh into a model park. He provided updates on the extensive construction spanning 15 million square feet for hospitals in Punjab, with a specific allocation of 6 million square feet for specialised health facilities.
