‘Healthcare profession incomplete without nurses’
LAHORE : Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer Uddin Medical College Principal Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar has said that the healthcare profession is incomplete without nurses as in the treatment, taking care and recovery of patients, the role of nurses is equally important.
"We have observed that during dengue and corona epidemics, nurses performed excellent services for patients without caring their own lives which have also been recognized at the national and international level. The nurses of LGH have always been seen in the forefront in this regard who have kept the flag of their field high by serving humanity," he said while addressing the farewell ceremony organized in honor of Nursing Officer Anwar Sultana who retired after serving 40 years in nursing.
A large number of nurses including Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Ramzan Bibi, Rana Pervaiz, Khalida Tabasum, Tasleem Mustafa, Naseem Khaliq, Fazeelat, Nudrat Mukhtar, Sadaf Rafiq, Uzma Yasin were present on this occasion.
Ramzan Bibi said that the responsibilities of nursing are challenging, but the nurses or women who take up this difficult field are leaders in both worlds by serving the suffering humanity.
The nursing staff appreciated her contribution towards this sector and claimed that they were always given guidance in all difficult times and she personally took the lead at every difficult moment.
On this occasion, the speakers lauded the services of Anwar Sultana, while Ms Anwar Sultana and thanked the organizers of the event. They said that she completed her nursing training and graduated from Nishtar Medical College and started working, after the long services in LGH now she retired.
Anwar Sultana further said that Principal Nishtar Medical College Prof Dr Zafar always taught health professionals to care for patients and he had the same vision that nothing is more important than human life. She added that along with care to encourage the patients by comforting them to recover was another goal.
She said that today his son Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar Principal PGMI, AMC, LGH also on the same path and performing great job as well. On this revelation of Anwar Sultana, the nursing staff expressed happiness and clapped in joy while nursing staff prayed for Anwar Sultana's best future and presented flowers and gifts. Victory Shad, Ayesha Niyamat, Shahnaz Khalid, Saba Parvaiz, Anam, Saba Ashfaq, Farhat Manzoor, Farhana and others were also present.
