Event arranged to mark World AIDS Day
PESHAWAR: World AIDS Day was observed at a ceremony in Hayatabad Medical Complex here on Friday.The global event is observed annually on December 1. The theme for 2023 is “Let Communities Lead”.
Director General of Health Services Dr Shaukat Ali was the chief guest for the occasion. The Integrated HIV, Hepatitis, and Thalassemia Control Programme of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hosted the event.
The event was also attended by PD Dr Tariq Hayat, Medical Directorog of HMC Dr. Shahzad Akbar, Dr Inamullah Khan, Team Lead UNICEF KP, Dr Sher Zaman, Director Administration HMC, and Zainab Shah, M&E, UNDP KP.
Dr Shaukat Ali appreciated the overall progress in the HIV field. In the current scenario, he acknowledged the support of the Global Fund and UN partners.An awareness walk was also conducted at the end of the event.
