Rawalpindi: Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Dr. Jamal Nasir visited Holy Family Hospital (HFH) and Benzir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), says a press release.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema and CEO Health Dr. Ijaz Ahmed were also present with him. Speaking on this occasion, Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir said that 20 percent of the reconstruction and renovation work of Holy Family Hospital has been completed and the deadline for the completion of this work is February 20, but due to Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s personal supervision, the project will be completed before the deadline.
He said that the work of upgradation of 100 government hospitals across Punjab is going on and all necessary available resources are being provided. He said that Holy Family is being converted into a modern hospital and for the first time in history a hospital is being closed for three months to complete reconstruction and renovation work. Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir said that Rs10 crores will be provided for reconstruction and repair of Benazir Bhutto’s physiotherapy and psychiatric ward and this work will also be completed by ‘Mohsin Speed’. He said that work on revamping of OPD of BBH is going on at a cost of Rs16 crore while Rs.11 crore have been provided to DHQ Rawalpindi to complete the repair work of the building.
Dr. Jamal Nasir said that the process of handing over the custody of Mother and Child Hospital Rawalpindi to Punjab is in progress and the Punjab government is working seriously on it and the proposal to convert this hospital into a general hospital is also being considered. He said that plans are being made to establish a burns center at the Red Crescent Hospital. The Health Minister was briefed about the expansion and renovation of Holy Family Hospital. While the provincial minister visited different parts of the hospital and reviewed the ongoing work.
