Campuses to remain closed today
LAHORE:Taking a big step to deal with the disaster of smog, Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabil Javed has decided to close all public and private educational institutions on Saturday (today).
However, it is at the discretion of the educational institutions to organise online classes. It has been decided to restrict normal life in Lahore and Gujranwala divisions. Punjab Relief Commissioner said that transportation will be restricted in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin districts. The markets, shops, cinemas and offices will be closed till 3pm, he said.
The people and the government together can avoid the harmful effects of this calamity. Diseases are spreading due to smog, it is very important to control it. People and businesses should cooperate with the government, he added.
