MANSEHRA: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four outlaws, including two members of a banned outfit.
“We have also seized arms and ammunition from possession of the arrestees, who were involved in robberies and other crimes in various areas of the province,” District Police Officer Ihsan Saifullah told a press conference at his office.
Flanked by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hafiz and in-charge City Police Station Javed Khan, Saifullah said the police had been tracing the gang since they committed a robbery at Al-Hadeed Steel Corporation in Mansehra, last month. “This was a test case. We traced circumstantial evidence, arrested the gangsters and also recovered the money,” he said.
He said those arrested included Iqtadar alias Munna, Qari Asif, Abdul Malik of Pulrah area in Mansehra and Qari Abdul Malik of Haripur. “We are expecting some highly important revelations from the arrested outlaws as two of them belong to a banned outfit,” said Saifullah.
The DPO said that in another action, the police also arrested five gangsters involved in the street crimes, mobile and cash snatching. It recovered stolen goods from them along with pistols used in such crimes.
In response to a question, the official said that Mansehra is an important part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and it is responsibility of the police, media and people to jointly wage a jihad against anti-social elements.
