NOWSHERA: A British national of Pakistani origin on Thursday asked the government and Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani to take note of the alleged police excesses against him and provide him and his family justice.

Speaking at a press conference here, Jehangir Bacha who is a resident of Hakeemabad, said he is a serving solider of the United Kingdom.

He said that a person had attacked the police sub-inspector Fawad Khan in Pabbi in 2014 in which a cab driver was injured.

The added that the first information report (FIR) of the incident was filed against an alleged accused Jehangir Khan son of Rawan Khan.

“I settled in England in 2011 and was on duty at the time of the incident in UK,” he recalled.

Jehangir Bacha said he was informed that the cops of the Akora Khattak Police Station were planning a raid at his house.

“I came to Pakistan on one month leave on March 30 to meet the police and clear the confusion caused due to inclusion of my name in the FIR,” he added.

He alleged the police raided his house the day he returned home, tortured him and his sister and also arrested him.

“The police violated the sanctity of my house and also snatched Rs0.3 million and 500 UK pounds from the inmates,” he alleged.

Jehangir Bacha said he introduced himself to the policemen but they didn’t listen to him and put him in the lockup.

“They kept me in the lockup for seven days despite the fact that I had done nothing wrong,” he added.

“Later the cab driver Waheed who was injured in the firing incident told the court that I wasn’t the person who had attacked him,” Jehangir Bacha added.

He said when he approached the police high-ups and complained about the cops’ highhandedness, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) tortured him and pressured him for a patch-up with the cops.

Jehangir Bacha asked the police high-ups to order an investigation into the incident and provide him justice.
