Rangers and police conducted on Friday a joint operation in the Mehran Town area, arresting three suspected dacoits, identified as Saddam Hussain, Karam Hussain, and Tahir Hussain.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the suspects were involved in over 200 street crimes, such as mobile phone snatchings, in the Korangi Crossing, Shah Latif Town and Bilal Chowrangi areas. He added that the suspects were traced with the help of CCTV footage and weapons and ammunition were seized from them.
During the initial interrogation, the suspects also confessed to stealing and snatching motorcycles from different parts of Karachi and selling them in Hub Chowki, Balochistan, the spokesperson said, adding that they were habitual criminals and had been jailed several times in the past.
The suspects along with the seized weapons and ammunition were handed over to the police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
