A handout was issued after a visit of Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar to the Malir Expressway on November 1.
The press release stated that due to some impediments such as K-Electric and Yellow Line interventions and SPD (Strategic Plans Division), the work could not commence on the elevated structure as planned on the Malir Expressway’s site. In addition, it was stated that the SPD, despite an NOC from the Ministry of Defence, is not allowing the work, even though the elevated structure is at a safe distance. However, it is contrary to the facts.
The reason for issuing the latest handout on Friday is to bring the facts to the knowledge of the public and confirm that there’s no such hurdle from the SPD’s side; rather, the NOC has already been given by the Ministry of Defence/SPD in this regard for the commencement of work, the interim CM clarified.
