JI to hold Al-Aqsa rally in Islamabad on 29th

RAWALPINDI/LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq and leaders of other political and religious parties will lead ‘Al Aqsa Gaza Palestine March’ in the federal capital on October 29 (Sunday).

This was stated by JI Secretary General Amirul Azeem while chairing a meeting to work out planning for the rally in Islamabad.

“Our elders, men, women and children will participate in the rally to awaken the international community and diplomats based in Islamabad against continuous aggression on innocent people of Palestine,” the JI leader said.

Central Naib Ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam, provincial ameers of North Punjab and KP, Dr. Tariq Saleem and Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, secretary generals Iqbal Khan and Abdul Wasay, Islamabad Ameer Nasarullah Randhawa, Rawalpindi Ameer Syed Arif Shirazi, Inaamul Hq Awan and others also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Vice President of Al Khidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKFP) Muhammad Abdus Shakoor, while addressing a press conference here, said that so far foundation has collected Rs650 million for Gaza people.

He said that relief goods worth Rs150 million had been dispatched to Gaza through National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other organisations.

He said that 13 trucks load of relief goods have been handed over to the NDMA for further deliverance in Gaza. He further said that a number of doctors have also registered themselves with Al-Khidmat to accompany teams for Gaza to extend medical treatment to Palestinians there.

Chairman Disaster Management Malik Inaam and regional president AKFP North Punjab were also present on the occasion.

Muhammad Abdus Shakoor said that the foundation has also established fund-raising camps as more funds are required for victims of Israel’s aggression on Gaza.

Speaking at a press conference in Mansoora on Tuesday, JI Ameer Sirajul Haq urged the masses to actively participate in the upcoming protest demonstrations and extended an invitation to leaders of all political parties to join in.

Siraj highlighted the staggering human toll of the incessant Israeli bombing of hospitals, schools and residential buildings, emphasizing that over 3,000 children and women, along with 5,000 innocent Palestinians, had lost their lives in Gaza due to the Israeli bombings.

He condemned the indiscriminate bombardment by the Zionist forces, which resulted in the destruction of crucial infrastructures such as hospitals and schools. He lamented the blockade imposed by Israel on the supply of essential resources like water, food, and medicines to the people of Gaza, causing approximately 870,000 individuals to be displaced during the 18-day long onslaught.

Expressing disappointment with the government’s lack of significant support for the people of Palestine, he stated that the Muslim world had anticipated strong measures from the powerful Islamic state.

He criticized other leaders of Islamic nations for their lackluster responses, accusing them of issuing hollow statements while being apprehensive about antagonising Washington.

In contrast, he pointed out the openly supportive stance of the United States president towards Israeli aggression, citing a history of similar support for bloodshed, ranging from past military actions in Japan, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan to backing India and Israel in their conflicts against the Kashmiri and Palestinian struggles for freedom.

He underscored the limited impact of the OIC’s ministerial-level involvement in addressing the ongoing aggression, calling for a summit to specifically address the dire situation in Gaza.

In light of the current circumstances, he emphasized that the Jamaat-e-Islami was solely dedicated to the cause of Palestine.

The JI had orchestrated nationwide protest demonstrations, convened a National Palestine Conference, and established the al-Quds Committee, which consisted of members from various political parties, he said, adding the committee aimed to engage with the ambassadors of different countries in Islamabad to raise awareness about the issue.

Siraj announced the JI’s plan to submit 10 million signed petitions from the people of Pakistan to the United Nations, urging the international body to intervene by ensuring a ceasefire and designating Israel as a terrorist state.
