ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister and senior PPP leader Rehman Malik said on Saturday that he will quit politics if an iota of corruption was proved in purchase of scanners from China for security purposes.
“There is no truth in these allegations which are aimed to defame me,” Rehman Malik said while announcing that he will serve a notice of Rs10 billion against those who were making these allegations.
The PPP leader demanded Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk to hold an investigation into the allegations made by an “unholy alliance” of Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and his associates regarding the nimport of Chinese scanners so that facts could be brought before the nation about false propaganda.
Malik said the media should not misguide people on the basis of one-sided and baseless allegations. He said those who make baseless allegations should be made accountable.
