MDCAT RESULT 2023: A unified approach to medical admissions
Islamabad:In a ground-breaking move, the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) has declared that the MDCAT result of one province shall be valid for the entire country. This decision aims to streamline the medical admission process and provide greater convenience to aspiring candidates.
With the examination date set for 27th August 2023, the anticipation is high, as almost 2 lac candidates are expected to participate this year. Currently, 166,001 candidates have successfully completed the MDCAT registration, while 18,417 applications are under process for final confirmation.
To facilitate prompt fee submission, candidates can choose to pay through debit or credit cards during holidays and on other days too. However, due to certain internet slowdowns during the Ashura, the PM&DC assures candidates that there is no issue in getting registration during holidays, as the registration process is entirely online.
Candidates are also given the option of payment through challan at MCB branches, which are widely available across the country, ensuring accessibility to students at the grass-root level.
To address candidates' concerns and make the process more accommodating, the PM&DC has allowed a limited 48-hour window, from 6th to 7th August 2023, for candidates to make changes to their MDCAT applications. Although the centre once selected cannot be changed, the Council's decision aims to assist candidates with necessary adjustments.
The MDCAT 2023 Examination will be conducted nationally and internationally through Admitting Universities of all Provinces, Islamabad, and Gilgit Baltistan. The paper-based exam will be conducted simultaneously at various centres, providing a fair opportunity to all candidates.
Furthermore, the PM&DC advises candidates to check the website for university and venue details, as the Notification of admitting universities from the Federal Government has caused some delays. In conclusion, the unified approach to the MDCAT result for the entire country marks a significant step towards a more streamlined and accessible medical admission process. Candidates are encouraged to prepare diligently for the upcoming examination and make informed choices regarding their preferred conducting university. The PM&DC IT and examination department have been working tirelessly to address any issues and ensure a smooth experience for all candidates until the last date of submission of applications.
