PTI expels several party members, including ex-KP CM
The party seeks their reply on violating the party’s policy
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has terminated the basic party membership of 22 members who were either found involved in violating the party policy or parted ways with the party, including ex-chief minister Mehmood Khan.PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan Saturday issued their termination notices and warned them against using the party name, designation and membership in any manner whatsoever.
The party has terminated the basic membership of Mehmood Khan, Ziaullah Bangash, Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, Ehtisham Javed Akbar and Aghaz Ikramullah Gandapur, Muhammad Iqbal Wazir, Zahoor Shakir, Wilson Wazir, Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq, who were expelled from the party for attending the new party meeting without the approval of competent authority.
Similarly, the PTI also terminated the basic membership of Syed Iqbal Mian, Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal and Sher Akbar Khan from the party. Likewise, basic membership of Shah Faisal Khan, Saleh Muhammad, Mufti Obaidullah Khan, Nadeem Khyal Khan, Muhammad Shafiq Afridi and Muhammad Deedar was also terminated.
Moreover, Mohibullah Khan, Ibrahim Khattak, Ahmed Hussain Shah were also expelled from the party for going against the party policy and attending the new party meeting.
Omar Ayub said that they were directed to refrain from using the party name, designation and/or membership in any manner whatsoever, failing which the party reserved to take action against them which may also lead to legal action.
In a related development, PTI issued show-cause notices to eight of its Sindh Assembly members for going against the party policy and voting for replacing the opposition leader in the provincial assembly.
PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan Saturday issued show-cause notices to the PTI Sindh Assembly members and sought an explanation from them within three days in this regard. PTI issued show-cause notices to Syed Imran Ali Shah, Sanjay Gagwani, Sachanand Lakhwani Sachal, Rabia Azfar Nizami, Omar Omari, Muhammad Ali Aziz, Karim Bux Gabol and Bilal Ahmed.
The notification reads that it had come to the notice of the party leadership that they violated the party policy and voted for replacing the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly. “In view of these reported activities, you are hereby called to explain yourself in writing within three days of this notice,” he added.
Omar asked that if their replies were to be unsatisfactory or they did not respond within the stipulated time, further action would be taken as per the party policy and rules.
Meanwhile, taking strict action for violating the party’s policy, PTI served show-cause notices to 12 of its members of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) for forming a forward bloc and voting against the party policy in the GB election for the slot of chief minister.
PTI secretary general issued notices to the PTI lawmakers and asked them to explain their positions in this regard within three days. PTI issued show-cause notices to Syed Sohail Abbas, Colonel (Retd.) Abidullah Baig, Shams-ul-Haq and Haji Shah Baig, who constituted a forward bloc and voted against the party policy in the GB election for the CM’s position.
Moreover, Gulbar Khan, Syed Amjad Zaidi, Fazal Rahim, Dilshad Bano, Suraiya Zaman, Mushtaq Hussain and Abdullah Hameed were also issued show cause notices in this regard.
The notification reads, “It has come to the notice of the party leadership that you made a forward bloc and voted against the party decision in GB. In view of these reported activities you are hereby called to explain yourself in writing within three days of this notice.”
Omar asked that if their replies were unsatisfactory or they did not respond within the stipulated time, further action would be taken as per the party policy and rules.
