Quetta: Three militants were killed, one was wounded and four others were arrested in an operation carried out by the Frontier Corps Balochistan in different areas of Makran on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the FC said that FC personnel carried out operations against militants in the Pedrak, Sardasht and Shadi Kor areas of Makran, in which three militants were killed, one sustained injuries and four others were arrested.
“The militants opened fire at the FC personnel who also retaliated against the attack. As a result, three militants were killed and one was injured,” he said, adding that the FC also arrested four militants and recovered weapons from their possession.
He said that the recovered weapons and other items include one pistol, one mine, two motorcycles, two wireless sets and one telescope. The spokesman further said that the militants were involved in kidnapping labourers from the Shadi Kor dam project and other crimes. He said that 200 personnel of FC Balochistan participated in the operation against the militants and helicopters were also used for aerial surveillance.
