Suicide suspected as boy found dead

An apparent suicide was reported in the Surjani Town police limits on Wednesday.

According to officials, a 20-year-old boy Ishaq was found dead in his bedroom after a quarrel with his parents over a marriage proposal. 

The deceased was a resident of North Karachi’s Sector 7/C.

SHO Surjani Town Aqeel Ahmed told The News that the boy had fallen in love with a girl, but his parents were not ready for their marriage. 

After a quarrel erupted over the matter, the boy took the extreme step after locking himself in the room. 

The police attended the scene and took the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
