Pak Navy ship visits Kenyan port
KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy ship Aslat, which is on an Overseas Deployment to east African countries and island states of Indian Ocean region, reached Mombasa (Kenya) for three days on its first leg of visit.
According to a press release issued Friday, Commanding Officer called on commander of Kenyan Navy during the visit and discussed topics of mutual interests. During the discourse, the commanding officer of the ship highlighted commitment of Pakistan Navy in promoting peace in the region through participation of Combined Task Force 151 (CTF 151) and Combined Task Force 150 (CTF 150).
Kenyan Navy commander appreciated Pakistan Navy’s role and efforts being made at international and regional levels to curb piracy and terrorism in the region. Besides, workshops on the topics of CounterPiracy and Boarding Operations followed by practical demonstration were also conducted onboard PNS Aslat wherein members of Kenyan Navy also participated. The commanding officer and ship’s crew also visited Orphanage School and distributed gifts amongst children.
