Four movies to choose from!

Islamabad

This week is fully loaded with new films for Islamabad-Rawalpindi movie enthusiasts. There are animations, crime thrillers and of course a police drama.

Animated 'Kungfu Panda 3' brings in the collaboration between Hollywood and China. A year from now, China would step ahead of all the rest to become the largest film-making dream factory in the world. In 'Kungfu Panda 3', a sequel to earlier two movies, you would not see but hear the dramatic voices  of international film celebrities ranging from  Angelina Jolie  and Dustin Hoffman to Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme. As for the plot, the two pandas (father and son) end up in the paradise to meet the third panda and fight the villain (Read: more pandas). This is what a movie enthusiast calls Candy-Coloured 3-D treat. Here you watch pandas with plenty of heroism and power. The drama is engaging.

Disney's 'Zootopia 3' brings more computer animation in 3-D. We are offered computer drawn animals in wholesale, fighting to uncover conspiracies and intrigues. Lots of action and some humour in utterly bad taste (adult rated). Amusing movie about animated animal kingdom.  Sure, there is state-of-the art animation but it also moves at a rapid pace. Watch 'Zootopia' because it has lots of fun.

'London has Fallen', directed by Babak Najafi, is a squeal to 'Olympus has Fallen' with Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and superstar supporting-actor Morgan Freeman in leads.

In the world of fiction, but close to life, with the death of the British prime minister, loaded in mystery, a deadly plot follows to kill important world leaders gathering for the funeral. The American president (who else!) with his secret service must step in to save the situation for  of course world peace!

'London Has Fallen' is an action-packed thriller with not-so-updated special effects and nightmarish stock shots costing sixty million dollars. The film runs for 100 minutes.

And finally producer-director-screenwriter and this time actor Parkash Jha's 'Ji Gangaajal' with Priyanka Chopra (riding high in Hollywood assignments now with tremendous success at bestowing Oscars in Los Angeles last week along with not-so-distant glories from 'Bajirao Mastani').

A sequel to 'Gangaajal', the drama must remain restricted to vengeance against corruption and crime for which Bihar has carved out a name nobody can beat. Interestingly, the lensing took place nowhere but in the crowded streets of Bhopal.

Priyanka Chopra comes here as the first woman police officer (SP) and must fight both inside and outside her department. Corrupt police establishment is no helping hand to her and it sure works against her. When criminals are supported by police establishment, it is tough to fight but fight she does. Can she bring law and order in place from the clutches of mafia? There are villains all around her.

In addition of vengeance and violence, Priyanka can be the attraction of 'Ji Gangaajal'. All other things remain as they were earlier in Ajay Devgn's 'Gangaajal'.
