VP Clifton Cantonment called on Corps Commander Karachi
KARACHI: The recently elected Vice President Clifton Cantonment Board Mr. Aziz Suharwardy called on the Corps. Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar at the Corps. Head Quarter to apprise him about the issues facing residents of Clifton Cantonment Board and DHA. Gen. Naveed congratulated him on his election as Vice President CBC. Vice President told him that the biggest problem of CBC was the short supply of water by KWSB on daily basis. Despite being the highest and only organization which was paying its bill on time, yet the water board had failed to fulfill supply of the agreed upon quota of water.
The Corps. Commander gave a patient hearing and advised the elected members to focus their energies in solving the problem of the citizens. He informed that as FWO had been awarded the contract to lay down the K4 Bulk Water Supply line, he was hopeful that additional water would be available by 2018.All efforts should be made to make the KWSB supply the mutually agreed upon quantity of water supply in the meanwhile.
The Vice President CBC also suggested some fast track measures to alleviate the shortage of water. He informed him that CBC was setting up a RO Plant to increase the water supply. He thanked the Corps. Commander for giving his time to hear the problems of the people.**
