Police arrest three hardcore militants in Upper Dir
DIR: The police claimed to have arrested three militants who were involved in attacks on security forces and kidnapping cases in Ghazigai Khwar, Doog Dara in Upper Dir on Tuesday.
Police officials said that a joint team of the Elite Police force, bomb disposal unit and local police, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheringal, Murad Khan and station house officer police station, Sheringal, Gul Fazil Khan, raided a house in the Ghazigai area and arrested the militants.
They said the arrested militants were involved in attacks on a scouts checkpost in Arandu in Chitral district in which 31 personnel of the scouts and border police had been killed.The militants had also kidnapped 10 labourers from the Acholgah forest in Chitral district in 2010. Three of the kidnapped persons were beheaded and the rest were later freed.The police said the militants had fled to Afghanistan. Two pistols were also recovered from them. ‘The militants were shifted to an unidentified place for investigation.
