In an effort to involve future generation in fight against corruption, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and The City School, Capital Campus, organised an awareness session where children were urged to play their role in eliminating attitudes that lead to corruption.
The session was led by NAB’s Director General Awareness and Prevention of Corruption Aliya Rashid which focused on the importance of saying “No to corruption.”
In her address, Aliya Rashid talked about the various forms of corruption and how they are damaging our society and reminded the children about the Quaid-e-Azam’s words that corruption is a poison and they must put it down with iron hand.
She also highlighted the initiatives taken by NAB to create awareness amongst the general public through seminars, talks, books and advertisements. She urged students to focus primarily on their education and build character on the foundations of honesty and integrity, rather than being materialistic and only desiring wealth, as this attitude leads to dishonesty in our society.
Aliya said that sometimes, children demand status of life which is beyond the financial status of their parents and regularly complains about not having luxury items which others are enjoying.
Present on the occasion were students, faculty and Principal Mehsoona Waqar who greatly landed and pledged to take the initiative further.
