FIA summons AKD director, Dhedhi’s daughter, to record statements
KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned the Director of the AKD Securities, Hina Balagamwala, who is the daughter of Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and nominated accused in a case of inflicting loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer, for recording her statement.
Sources in the FIA said the authorities of the agency issued a notice to the accused lady. The accused was also summoned two days earlier but she did not appear, saying she was not present in Karachi after which the notice was re-issued to appear and record her statement.
It is pertinent to mention here that the AKD Securities, in connivance with the EOBI, had caused a loss of Rs300 million to the national exchequer and a case No 2015/27 was registered and the CEO of the AKD Securities, along with three directors, was arrested. The Director of the AKD Securities, Hina Junaid Balagamwala, was also nominated in the case. She and others had obtained bail before arrest.
