Prince Harry, who shared a close bond with his beloved sister-in-law, Katte Middleton, still holds her in a special regard.
The Duke of Sussex, who left his senior royal position in 2020 with wife Meghan Markle, has been embroiled in a ongoing royal rift, especially with his brother Prince William, after he made explosive claims about him in Spare.
According to a source cited by Closer magazine, Prince Harry “always had a huge amount of love and respect for Kate.” While the royal rift had “soured” many relationships of his were fractured over the years.
Although, things changed when Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March of this year. When the shocking news sent ripples in the royal family, Harry was “one of the first people to reach out” and “vowed to support her privately in whatever way he could.”
The insider revealed that Kate arranged a private meeting with Harry during his visit on September 30th, to find a way to resolve the feud and set a specific condition before the meeting, which was to meet alone.
Before exiting the royal family, Harry had always referred to Kate fondly as the ‘sister he never had.’ The two often appeared sharing a laugh and Kate credited Harry for helping her during her transition into the royal family.
Following his marriage to Meghan, there was some friction but that has not stopped Kate from worrying about ‘homesick’ Harry.
Reports also suggest that the Princess of Wales was a driving force to post the birthday message for the Duke’s milestone birthday last month.
“Kate’s noticed how Harry’s walls seem to have broken down more since they’ve been chatting and she’s revealed that it’s clear he has struggled to adapt to life in California – giving more weight to the rumours that he wants to return to the UK,” the source said.
Meanwhile, no official sources have shared an indication of a meeting between the two royals.
