PESHAWAR: The Fata Political Alliance, an amalgamation of various political parties from Fata, on Thursday expressed concern over the alleged delaying tactics in the implementation of Fata Reforms Committee’s recommendations and demanded representation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in the 2018 general elections.
Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, president of the Fata Political Alliance Nisar Mohmand said the federal government was planning to shift the Fata Secretariat under Safron Ministry, which means the federal government may merge Fata into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The Fata Secretariat should be brought under the direct administration of provincial government, which would be an initial step towards the true implementation of Fata reforms as suggested by political parties and Fata Reforms Committee,” he added.
Nisar Mohmand, who belongs to the Awami National Party, was flanked by Jamaat-e-Islami head for tribal areas Saardar Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Iqbal Afridi and Ijaz Mohmand of Fata Lawyers Forum.
