Ad hoc lecturers protest enters 8th day
PESHAWAR: The Ad Hoc Lecturers Association continued the protest on eighth consecutive day on Monday for regularisation of their services.
The association president, Afsar Khan, led a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club. The speakers said that 215 ad hoc lecturers had been performing duties for the last five years but the government was delaying regularisation of their services. They said Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani and provincial assembly’s Speaker Asad Qaiser had made commitment with them, but that was not honoured.
They claimed Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and provincial ministers Mushtaq Ghani and Shah Farman had visited their protest camp and assured them of solving their problems within a week. They warned of continuing the protest movement if their demand was not met within a week.
