Air commodores Haseeb, Shakir promoted to AVMs

ISLAMABAD: Air Commodore Muhammad Haseeb Paracha and Air Commodore Tameezuddin Shakir Qazi have been promoted to the rank of air vice marshal.

According to a press release Monday, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Haseeb Paracha was commissioned in GD(P) branch of Pakistan Air Force in November 1986. During his illustrious career he has commanded a fighter squadron, a flying wing and an operational airbase.

In his staff appointments, he has served as director (Plans) and as chief project director at Directorate of Weapon System Management (F-16) at the Air Headquarters. He has also served as an air attache in the US. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders School, Command & Staff College (UK) and National Defence University, Islamabad. He holds Master’s degree in Defence Studies (UK) and Master’s in Defence & Strategic Studies. He is a recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (military).

Air Vice Marshal Tameezuddin Shakir Qazi was commissioned in the GD(P) branch of PAF in April 1987. During his illustrious career, he has commanded a fighter squadron and a support wing. He has served in Gambia on deputation and in China on posting. Presently, he is serving as assistant director general Air Force Strategic Command at the Air Headquarters.

He is a graduate of Combat Commanders School, Air Command & Staff College, Iran, and Air War College. He holds a Master’s degree in Defence Affairs Management (Iran) and two Master’s degrees in Strategic Studies. He is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
