ISLAMABAD: The marketing companies reduced here Wednesday prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs15 per kilogram following decline in its price in international market.
As a result prices of domestic cylinder were decreased by Rs175 and commercial cylinder by Rs700, Chairman LPG Distributors Association Muhammad Irfan Khokhar said.
He informed that the local market witnessed dip in LPG prices after reduction of 70 per ton from 370 to 300 price per metric ton in international market. He said that the new prices would be effective from February 3 throughout the country.
Giving details he said that the prices had been reduced to Rs 85 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs970 in Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Sialkot and Peshawar.
The prices of domestic cylinder in Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Hyderabad, Attock, Mirpur and AJK have been slashed to Rs1150 with one kilogram to Rs100. In Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbotabad, Muzaffarabad, Fata, Kotli, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot and Nawabashah the one kilogram LPG would be sold at Rs110 and the domestic cylinder will be available at Rs1300.
The price of domestic cylinder at Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, and Balakot would be Rs1510 with one kilogram at Rs130. He said the price of domestic cylinder in Karachi has been reduced to Rs910 with one kilogram Rs80 kg.
He said the representatives of the association recently held a meeting with Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to discuss issues pertaining to ensuring stability in price and to maintain price at affordable level for the masses.He said that the issue pertaining to the substandard cylinder were also discussed and demanded a crackdown to put an end to the lethal practice.
