PUTA rejects probe body’s report
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) has rejected the reported conclusion of factfinding committee on Bacha Khan University terrorist attack and termed it a political victimisation at a wrong stage on a very sensitive issue. The committee through its findings as published in the newspaper consider “no coordination with district administration for functions as a violation of law.” “This is totally an ignorant opinion,” said PUTA President Dr Jamil Ahmad Chitrali through a statement. “Universities are autonomous entities, and have nothing to do with district administration. We hold dozens of events daily at University of Peshawar, should we be accountable to DC Peshawar,” he added. This is political victimisation and professional ignorance on behalf of the committee, he said.
