Recently, the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) uploaded a letter on its website which stated that 3,550 candidates had qualified for the screening test of the CCE (Combined Competitive Examination) 2013. But the true figure was 3,375 which the commission ultimately rectified after much hue and cry was raised.
The SPSC is required to conduct its dealings professionally because of the sensitive nature of its job. Putting wrong statistics in matters of selection and employment is a grave mistake. Such omissions and mistakes cast doubts over its credibility in the minds of people. Therefore, the SPSC chairman should make sure that in future no such lapse occurs.
