City commissioner replaced with minister’s relative
Asif Hyder Shah, a close relative of finance and energy minister Murad Ali Shah, to also hold additional charge of Hyderabad commissioner
Karachi
The Sindh government replaced on Monday Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui with Asif Hyder Shah - a close relative of finance and energy minister Murad Ali Shah.
Siddiqui was appointed the city’s commissioner in April, 2013 – his tenure lasting around two years and eight months.
Asif Hyder Shah was working as the Hyderabad commissioner and according to a notification issued by the chief secretary he would still continue holding that post as an additional charge.
The outgoing commissioner has been directed to report to the provincial services, general administration and coordination department.
Siddiqui, a senior bureaucrat, is known for his professional conduct and corruption-free reputation and during his tenure as the commissioner he had always shown a keen interest in addressing the civic and municipal affairs of the residents of Karachi.
The Sindh government has also posted Rasheed Ahmed Zardari, a grade-19 officer, as the new deputy commissioner of Tando Allahyar in place of Muhammad Sajjad Hyder.
Zardari was earlier working as the settlement, survey and land records director at the Board of Revenue, Hyderabad.
Hyder has been posted as the additional commissioner-I of Hyderabad. Ghanwar Ali Leghari, a grade-19 officer, has been posted as the deputy commissioner of the Shaheed Benazirabad district in place of Muhammad Nawaz.
Leghari was working as an additional secretary at the chief minister’s secretariat.
Anti-graft portfolio
The chief minister has allocated the portfolio of the Enquires and Anti-Corruption Establishment to home minister Sohail Anwar Siyal on an additional basis.
The portfolio of anti-corruption establishment was held by Manzoor Hussain Wassan before the chief minister had kept it with himself for some time.
