RAWALPINDI. The Judge of Special Customs Court (SCC), Rawalpindi, Rana Aftab Ahmed, on Monday rejected the plea of supermodel Ayyan Ali in which counsel for the accused pleaded to extend the case hearing for two weeks. The court rejected the plea and directed the lawyers to present their arguments so that Ayyan Ali might be indicted in the next hearing.
The court extended the judicial remand of the supermodel in money laundering-cum smuggling case till July 6, 2015.Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing till July 6.On the other hand, the LHC had also rejected the bail application of Ayyan Ali in the case.
Ayyan’s lawyer Latif Khosa told the LHC that she had sold some plots and had gone to Islamabad airport to give the money to her brother who was late and during that time she was arrested. Khosa upheld Ayyan did not have a boarding pass with her and without the pass there could be no money laundering case. However, the government lawyer argued that the supermodel wanted to take the money to Dubai and, therefore, she exchanged rupees into dollars.
