Islamabad: If the Pakistan Meteorological Department is to be believed, showers are likely to fall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the next two days.
“During the next 48 hours, mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country. However, light rain or thundershowers are expected at few places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, FATA, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Peshawar, Sargodha, Lahore and Gujranwala divisions, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” weatherman Muhammad Farooq said on Friday.
Currently, the country is in the grip of heat wave with the temperatures soaring to around 50 degree Celsius forcing the people to stay indoors during the daytime.
The PMD official said the heat wave would continue in Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirbad, Sibbi and Makran divisions. He added that due to the hot weather, dust storm or dust-raising winds were expected in the same areas.
