NPC, PNHA hold free medical camp

Islamabad: National Press Club (NPC) and Pakistan National Heart Association (PNHA) has jointly organised a free medical camp for the families of journalists here at National Press Club Islamabad, says a press release.

Journalists and their families visited the medical camp for medical checkup. Doctors checked patients, carried out tests of different diseases and provided them free medicines.

After the medical camp, a ceremony was held to highlight the issues of cardiovascular disease and to create awareness about their prevention.

While addressing to the journalists and their families as chief guest, Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Absar Alam announced to award News Channel and FM Radio licence for PNHA to create awareness and highlighted the health issues and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

He said that there is huge need to create the awareness against the different disease and to adopt the pre-emptive measure, in this regard; the chairman PEMRA appreciated the role of PNHA for informing the people regarding cardiovascular diseases.

On the occasion, PNHA President Major General Masood ur Rehman, stressed the need for adopting the simplicity in all aspect of life, and said balance diet would be best way to escape from cardiovascular diseases.

He said, "We are fully committed to provide necessary health facilities to journalist and their families and any other cooperation in this regard.”

While addressing on the occasion, National Press Club President Shakeel Anjum said NPC and PNHA to enhance mutual cooperation for welfare of journalist community in future.
